Illegal Immigrant Discussion
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez found themselves at the center of discussions surrounding Arizona’s tough immigration law on Wednesday (27Jun12) after a congressman used them to highlight flaws in the ruling, reports contactmusic.com
The controversial legislation, which was passed in 2010, gives Arizona police power to detain anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant.
Officials discussed the issues surrounding the ruling during a debate at the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday, and Congressman Luis Gutierrez used Justin Bieber and girlfriend as an example of how complicated the law is.
Showing a picture of Selena, who was born in Texas but is of Mexican ancestry, next to her Canadian boyfriend, the congressman declared:
“These young people have overcome their very different national origins and become, apparently, a happy couple. I’m sure Justin helped Gomez learn all about American customs and feel more at home in her adopted country.“Oh wait a minute, I’m sorry, because I’m not a trained Arizona official – I somehow got that backwards. Actually, Miss Gomez of Texas has helped Mr Bieber of Canada learn about his adopted country.“Justin, when you perform in Phoenix, remember to bring your papers.”
Lady Gaga, Jessica Alba, Kanye West and Eva Longoria are among the other stars who have condemned the new law.

Now it’s official: Justin Bieber’s Believe scored the year’s biggest chart debut, selling more than 374,000 copies and blasting the competition on the Billboard Top 200.
Believe — Justin’s fourth album to debut at #1 — slightly edged Madonna’s MDNA, which sold 359,000 copies when it was released in late March, to claim the title of year’s biggest bow, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
BELIEVE’s also the best first-week number any album has posted since Adele’s 21 rode a post-Grammy surge to sales of more than 729,000 copies in February.

Selena Gomez says she and Justin Bieber plan to keep their ‘hot moms’ Patty and Mandy away from Harry Styles because Harry prefers to date older women.
Selena told the Daily Mirror newspaper:
“Justin has become really good buddies with the guys in One Direction and we know some beautiful young women in the industry who have major crushes on Harry.“He could probably take his pick from the hottest young girls in Hollywood but from what Justin has been telling me, it’s not the young girls he’s looking at.“I guess you just can’t blame him when you see how hot women such as Cameron Diaz, Eva Longoria and Sofia Vergara look.“Both me and Justin still have really hot mums and Justin was like, ‘Harry might have become one of my best buddies, but with his record, we need to keep him away from our moms.’”
Harry was only (17) when he dated Caroline Flack (32). Their relationships causing major controversy due to the 15 year age gap and ended around January 2012.

Justin Bieber playing golf at the Calabasas Country Club earlier today (June 26). Justin appeared to be quite focused on his game as he swung his club before hopping into a cart and cruised down the fairway.
According to a source on the scene, at one point Justin received a phone call and put the game on hold to answer it – perhaps chatting with girlfriend Selena Gomez, reports Gossipcenter.com
Irritated by the paparazzi presence, Justin also tweeted:
“Dear paps…golf is supposed to be a relaxing sport..u aren’t supposed to be in the bushes yelling at me with cameras. let me finish the game.”

That’s the most chart-toppers for any act in a two-and-a-half-year span since Bieber made his chart debut in December 2009.
