Justin Bieber has been playing the doting boyfriend to Selena Gomez, showering her with gifts, trips and treats (along with plenty of PDA). But, has he crossed the line and overwhelmed Gomez with his spending power? After all, money can't buy love or happiness.
According to friends of the 18-year-old starlet, she's started feeling a bit bothered by the constant cash flow. "There's barely a day goes by when Justin doesn't treat Selena to something or have some surprise gift or trip for her," confirmed a source. "Selena finds it sweet but she's really not the kind of girl to be impressed by material things. She has to reassure Justin that it's okay to just be normal and spend time together and that doesn't mean some big trip or shopping spree."
Apparently, Justin Bieber's gift-giving has gotten so out of hand that Selena Gomez has even asked him to stop! Well, at least the Biebs knows Gomez has substance to go along with her star power.
However, Gomez must have made an exception for the Fourth of July holiday, as she didn't refuse Justin Bieber plunking down the plastic during the pair's massive shopping spree in NYC and the Hamptons. Nor did she sit out a dinner date cruise on a luxury yacht in Sag Harbor marina last Friday.
Ironically, both of the high-earning pop sensations were caught without cash when they recently went out for ice cream.
