And now for a DUH moment brought to you by yours truly…
Even though teen superstar Justin Bieber has taken the scene by storm, gaining more than ten million Twitter followers, his popularity doesn't translate over into the field of sophisticated magazine sales.
In February, Vanity Fair had Beiber grace their cover with lipstick kisses.
Obviously thinking this would boost newsstand sales, the magazine faced disappointment when said issue failed miserably in numbers.
The JB issue is now on track to becoming the worst seller for the magazine in twelve years!
Vanity Fair isn't the only company stinging from Beiber upset. Teen Vogue and People have also experienced a drop in sales when publishing covers with the otherwise high-in-demand pop star. Said aVanity Fair spokesperson:
Who knew 12-year-olds didn’t buy magazines?
Umm, everyone!?!
Don't get us wrong. We love love love Vanity Fair, but we didn't think we were the only ones passing over the mag in February!
Unless you're Tiger Beat, steer clear of the Biebs!
